With
Joseph out of school for 3 weeks, his beautiful sister Rebekah getting
married, his youngest brother getting his Eagle scout award (the 6th of 6
boys), and a family reunion planned around those events - we planned a
quick trip to AZ. It is always intense traveling with kids, especially
when you have 5 -- and this time was no different. We left our home
around 5:30 am and didn't anticipate so many people being in line for
security that early in the morning. We were one of the last people on
the plane and there were not 5 seats together. There weren't even 3
seats together. So the nice flight attendant did some maneuvering and
got us 3 together and then 2 apart in the back of the plane. That was
just the beginning ... we were then grounded on the airplane (during a
lightning storm) for an hour and a half before we even took off. I have
to say we were really blessed to have nice understanding people on the
plane, and this great grandma that sat by Kiah and read here stories,
and listened to her talk, the whole flight (well at least until the
fasten seat belt sign got turned off). But, I have to say ... the kids
did great.
While we were there Joseph worked really
hard from early to late, getting things ready for the busy weekend. I
think he would admit that his time on the tractor was some of his best
moments from the trip. I didn't see him much those first couple of
days. :-)
The
yard was beautiful and we enjoyed the reception of his younger sister
Rebekah and her new husband Jesse. Then on Sunday his youngest brother
Jordan got his Eagle Scout Award - the sixth of 6 brothers. It was
presented by Rusty Bowers a candidate for Congress. Then on Monday we
ended the family reunion with a bunch of fun games and activities. It
was a very busy, crazy, fun week. And ... my parents even decided to
take a little trip and come see us too - so that was very special.
Thanks for coming and helping out!
