It's RAINING, it's POURING!

Who says it never rains in the desert???  Well, I guess it's true!  It hardly EVER rains -- but just a few days after our arrival we were blessed from heaven!  We were at the park down the street when it started and we all walked home in the rain - SOAKED!  Why not enjoy it if you are already wet (and sometimes even if you are dry)!

Fun in El Paso

We are so glad that we have family now within an hours drive. The Marrott cousins live in El Paso.  Lucky us!  Besides wanting to stock our freezer from Costco, :) we also were anxious to meet Joseph's cousins new babies.  It also happened to be Jesse's birthday so we decided to make a trip.

What a fun day!  Thanks for letting us crash your party!

On our way home, there is a border patrol stop about 20 minutes from our home.  Joseph had just rolled down the window to speak to the Border Officer and we had this strange thing fly into our car, but didn't know what it was.  We pulled over and discovered this HUGE beetle on the ground.  I'm talking HUGE!  Welcome to the desert! YUCK!

Traveling HOME

July 5th we packed up our memories from the last month away and headed back to the boxes in our rental in New Mexico.  Finally time to let Joseph begin what he has worked a life-time to prepare for!  But, first a few stops along the way!

4th of July

This fourth of July brought back a load of memories starting with a great trip to the lake for some tubing!  Thanks Uncle Rob for taking all these Monkey's out!  For my kids it was there first time on the tube -- I know, I can't believe my kids are getting so old and haven't been out on the lake very much -- such sad commentary! :(

Sara and I even got to go on!

Then, after the Lake back to Nana and Papa's house for a BBQ and more water fun! This time the Myers, Josh and Katie, and Jacob and Rebekah joined us!

This is awesome!

Then the only fireworks allowed this year were sparklers ... and it had to be across the street, since we were in the "no firework zone," but across the street wasn't!
