The Biggest Shock Of our Lives

Well, we received the biggest shock of our lives this morning at 7:15am when the ultrasound tech told us "you have 2." "Yes, we know there are lots of two's on babies - hands, feet, eyes, arms, etc." We never expected that she would ever say, "You have TWINS!!!" Since moving to Pittsburgh soon after finding out we were expecting, it took a little while to establish insurance, find a doctor etc. Being 18 weeks, the doctor scheduled us for an ultrasound before coming to our first doctor's appointment that was scheduled directly after. Since Twins don't run on the Whitaker side, we thought that us having twins would only ever happen by divine intervention - and as you are well aware - we are not in charge here!!!! So, I know you are sitting there with your mouths wide open saying to yourselves "oh, my word, you have got to be kidding." Yes, I know that you think we are kidding, and believe me we thought the tech was kidding too -but, come the end of January the Westovers will be blessed with yet another girl, and also our first (and only) little boy. Our girls are thrilled and mom and dad are "excitedly speechless."
Taken that magical day at the ultrasound, where our life changed forever!!

Wow!!! Lisa - I am SOOOO excited for you! I bet you are still in shock. That is AMAZING.

You said that divine intervention was the only way - well, it looks like some divine force knew that you would be the perfect mother to a set of twins (and think of all the help you will get from your girls!)

Love you. And a love your blog. I am so glad I can keep in touch with you this way!

that is AWESOME!!! It is so much fun. I can only say it is Josephs fault. How many times did he say he wanted twins and how cool that would be. The Lord knows when to take advantage of a situation when he sees one especially to such great parents. And Lisa, I don't know many moms that could do twins with 3 others and a husband just starting dental school but I know you will be amazing. Im no expert but I would love to talk if you have and questions. having a boy and girl is so much fun. I still cant believe it. I am so excited for you. I think you also have to blame the water or something in the tates creek ward. Now with the duke boys we have 6 sets!! Congrats and good luck. we miss you.

WHHAAAATTT?!?!? I can't believe you didn't say a word about this when I talked to you on Sunday!! CONGRATS!!! OH MY GOSH!!! Wow. I second (or third) the idea that this is all Joseph's fault for saying you were done. :) I can't believe this. Wow, I tell you what, wow. I was totally waiting for a "Just Kidding" or a "September fools" or something... You guys are horrible about keeping secrets!!! Love you and miss you.

WOW!!! My mouth is still hanging open. I can't imagine how surprised if it were me. I'm so happy you are getting a little testosterone in the mix. My 22 month old boy is soooo full of adventure! He wears a hat 24/7, even in the bathtub as well as to bed. Church is the only exception. His pockets are always loaded with cell phones, toys, car keys. He kicks a soccer ball better than his 6 year old sister. He really is a joy. Maybe all the girls came first so that you can have 3 mother hens to help you with the twins!!!!!!! This just goes to show how amazing you are...either that or Heavenly Father has a good sense of humor. I'm positive it is both! Love ya tons.
